I agree that the printed instructions need to be edited regarding the snap button. Good thing this video is here, or I would have ben stumped.

Done a lot of research this, the problem is the metal edging comes off easily, the rivets pull through.. I would have bought the SnoBoss if it wasn't for this problem.. That was the only problem in all the reviews I read.. they need to use a galvanized edging instead of aluminum.

I purchased a couple True Temper 60 in Steel handles from Lowes and was wondering if using galvanized bolts were the best way to go for the installation to avoid rusting as opposed to using zinc plated ones. Will I get a galvanic reaction with these bolts?

You realize how much that would cost? An ice scraper specialized for the driveway and sidewalk would cost a mere $30-40 depending on the brand. A heated driveway would cost upwards to $4k or as low as $1k.

Hey, @TrueTemperTools, will you ever design an attachment that can go on a riding lawnmower chassis that can have a bunch of these blades, but in bigger, stronger, and thicker forms, that can bust through thicker layers of ice, please? My ice scraper is horrible and it does not go through super thick ice.

Believe it or not, thick ice seems to be easier to remove because I can just spear it like a caveman. It's the thin sidewalk ice that's pissing me off. It's been 7 years.. did you ever find out how I can remove it? All of the tutorials seem to be on 'thick ice' which isn't the problem

Got one called a Big Dog from Bomgaars years ago. Don't really have to put much weight behind it, just lift and let it drop. Have used it on 6" ice at a friend's house. Did have to put some weight behind it. Once it's broken up, it's easy enough to scoop. An ounce of prevention, though - scoop before driving over snow. Use a steel shovel to get to the concrete and you won't have this problem.
